About Pears
A Slate word game: as many words as possible are made from the day's letters. After every four words a 'pear' (a pair of letters) appears, with one shot to enter a single word that uses it. The longest pear word acts as a score multiplier, and finishing all the pears wins. New games arrive at noon Eastern, and Slate Plus members can play an archive of 400-plus games.
